Hi Karin,

I just wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to write your blog about Jim Lacy. I considered Jim a friend and everything you mentioned in your blog coincided very clearly with many of the things that Jim said to me during our conversations. We had many hundreds of hours of conversations via the phone and on Facebook over the years and I miss those. I wish I wouldn’t have taken those moments for granted. But we all think we have so much time until we don’t.

Recently I went to the Iron Palm website because I missed Jim and I thought I’d buy some of Jim’s old videos so I could hear, see and watch him do what he was so passionate about. I made it very clear to whomever was running the site that I only wanted Jim’s videos and after some negotiating he agreed. However, after sending $500 to who I now know is Michael Lacy; he only sent me a 12 minute video of Doo Wai. FOR $500 BUCKS! That’s it. I was outraged. He absolutely refused to send me anything with Jim. I don’t want to moan on and on about that situation. Luckily, I was able to get my money back through paypal. But I couldn’t believe this con-artist. I will be visiting California this year and I’m strongly fighting the urge to track him down and kick him in the balls.

Suffice it to say that I’m very sad that I didn’t find your blog about Jim first so that I would’ve known the whole story about the website. And also, it clears up a lot of controversy in the martial arts world about Jim and Wai’s relationship. Thank you for being so open and honest. Doo Wai has done so much to dim the light of Jim’s legacy. But I know in my heart that if people could just watch some of those old videos then they’d see the passion, the knowledge, the dedication and the truth.
